One of the things I value most about South Africa is the spirit of Ubuntu—the belief that our humanity is connected to that of others. In a country with so many different cultures, languages and histories, I find beauty in the ways people continue to show up for one another, whether through sharing what little they have, celebrating together or offering a helping hand. To me, this is a reminder that despite our differences, there is something deeply human that connects us all.
